There was an old garden tool storage cabinet made of aluminium with old paint. I had never painted on an aluminium surface before, so I viewed it as an opportunity and a challenge to use the metal as a base for a new idea. The first task was to take off the old paint, leaving the polished aluminium surface. The first side could then be layered with paint, then the second and third side. Each side was inspired by a visit to a place which I had previously seen. The final touch was to lacquer the cabinet with a protective coating against the weather.
The project shows the transformation of an old cabinet into an artwork.
