One day walking around Oxford I was mesmerised by this blossomed tree, by the shadows underneath it. The tree seemed like something out of a fairy tale, just a moment before and a fairy appeared from the church door. Years later, when I saw the Sakura blossom in London, I realised that I wanted to create a series of paintings inspired by spring. This painting captures a delicate moment of early spring, where a blossoming tree stands in quiet contrast against a weathered stone wall. Light filters through the petals, casting an intricate, almost dreamlike shadow across the earth — a reflection of fleeting beauty. The richly textured brushstrokes and nuanced color palette evoke a sense of serenity, nostalgia, and the silent poetry of nature’s rhythms. A gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and remember that even the briefest seasons leave lasting impressions.
